The crown is cut into see-through vents, placed right where a cap usually traps the heat: the top. Heat rises, the vents let it out, and your head stays cooler. Check the photos, you can see straight through them.

No. All the ventilation sits up in the crown. The brim is one solid piece with no openings, so the shade over your eyes has no gaps in it.
The crown is two layers: open cutouts on top, fine mesh underneath. Air moves through it all day, big insects don't fit.
It adjusts from 55 to 60 centimeters, about 21.7 to 23.6 inches. Wrap a tape measure just above your ears: land in that range and it fits. The metal buckle holds the setting.
