Will it fit my head?
It adjusts from 55 to 60 cm, about 21.7 to 23.6 inches. Wrap a tape measure just above your ears: land in that range and it fits. The metal buckle holds the setting and the strap tail tucks inside the band so nothing flaps at pace.
What makes this different from a regular mesh cap?
A regular mesh cap is solid fabric with tiny holes. It still sits flat against your head, still saturates, and still dumps sweat down your forehead. The EVO puts real vent cutouts down both sides of the crown where heat collects, runs the sweatband the full way around instead of stopping at the front, and shapes the brim with raised side edges that steer the overflow away from your eyes.
Does the sun come through the vents?
Some light gets through the side vents. That's the price of the airflow. The centre panel on top stays solid where the sun is most direct, and the brim is one solid piece over your eyes. With hair, your hair covers the rest. Bald or thin on top? Wear sunscreen up there, or this cap's trade may not be for you. Better to know before you buy.
Can bugs or debris get in through the vents?
The crown is two layers: cutouts on top, fine mesh underneath. Air moves through it all day and big insects don't fit. Fine dust can pass, the same as any mesh.
I sweat more than most people. Will it keep up?
Honest answer: the band will soak eventually. Every band does, and anything claiming otherwise is lying to you. What this one does is run the full way around instead of stopping at the front, so there's more of it before that point, and the brim edges steer the overflow sideways once it gets there.
Does this work if I'm bald?
Especially if you're bald. With no hair to slow it down, sweat runs straight off the scalp toward your brow, which is exactly the path the brim edges intercept. The vents also keep air moving over your scalp instead of sealing heat against it. See the sun question above for the trade-off.
How do I clean it?
Hand wash in cool water with a little mild soap, reshape it, and let it dry on its own. Keep it out of the dryer and don't blast it with hot air.
